The Harmful
Effects of Stress:
According to a recent occupational health study, 50% of lost work time
was attributed to stress-related illness. Think about it… stress is
not only bad for our well-being, but bad for business.
Stress can lead to muscle pain,
headaches, greater susceptibility to illness, increased anxiety, lowered
productivity, and burnout.
The best way to combat stress is
through practice. That is, through the practice of leading a balanced,
healthful lifestyle that is both productive and restorative.
The Art of Living
Well:
The art of living well requires the exercise of common sense. Making
lifestyle choice that nourish the whole person leads to a balanced and
abundant life. People who practice that art of living well tend to:
-
Eat healthy, well balanced meals
-
Drink 8-10 glasses of water
daily
-
Get plenty of sleep
-
Exercise 3-5 times per week for
30 minutes
-
Pursue hobbies and passions
-
Surround themselves with
positive people
-
Pray, meditate, and foster an
inner life
-
Volunteer their time to a
worthwhile cause
In addition, they choose to enhance
their sense of well-being by incorporating regular sessions of bodywork
in their routine
We give our cars preventative
maintenance on a regular basis, don’t you think we deserve the same
benefit?
The Power of
Choice:
Many people forget the power of their choices. Take it from Hafiz, the
14th century Persian poet, who had some sage advice on the
art of living well:
“Learn to
recognize the counterfeit coins that buy you a moments pleasure, then
drag you for days like a broken man behind a smelling camel”.
Be smart! Make positive lifestyle
choices that help you avoid feeling like (or smelling the back end of) a
beast of burden.
What to Expect:
Each session is tailored to your specific needs. Your physical /
emotional status, and any concerns you may have will be discussed prior
to the start of each massage
Chair based massage sessions which
focus on your back, neck and shoulders, or a full-body, table-based
sessions are available.
Massage treatments take place in a
safe, clean, nurturing environment. Soft lighting, and soothing music
bathe the room with a relaxing ambiance. Privacy is respected at all
times with careful draping.
